KONSTANTINOUPOLIS
The Konstantinoupolis Hotel is housed in a building constructed during the British Protectorate (1814-1864). It opened in 1878 as a hotel, run by a family from Constantinople, hence the name. With an advantageous position by the (then) main port, the hotel was in great demand amongst the business community of the time, as well as with the high society of Europe, many of whom chose Corfu for their holidays. Open continuously from 1878 to 1993, it came under new management in the spring of 1997. Faithfully restored with respect for the history and architectural tradition of the island, it retains many original features. Spread over four floors of the five-storey building, the rooms are fully equipped, with the ones at the front overlooking the old harbour and the islands of Vidos and Lazaretto. Full of charm and with a warm family atmosphere, this hotel stands out for excellent value and quality services.
